Ruby With The Eyes That Sparkle
The Vigil
Poetry
On the land which we hold, generations were reared,
Great grandfather farmed and my grandfather cleared.
This trust and bequest owes a charge to their pains,
Their mandate and dower ruled the blood in my veins.
Spoken word recording:
The spires on All Saints bell tower rise darkly through the trees,
Impaling cloud and vapour trail in calm autumnal frieze.
Memories from childhood provide Cornerstones for Life,
Mouldings for your character, sturdy gimbals for the soul.
Spoken word recording:
Midst Nature’s unsung glory, which inspires man’s temporal awe,
Her Golden Primrose Vestments cloak the Brooghs of Bul Ny Gaw
Fierce white horses wildly prancing,
Their foaming pennants dancing,
With splintered sunbeams glancing,
Through rift in thunderhead.
On high and distant sheep lawns pale runlets wake the sun
Leaving tracery in the dew fall, the great muster has begun
See it glimmer in the distance like a tiny whitewashed jewel
Where we raise our hymns of worship on the slopes of South Barrule
Spoken word recording:
