Spider silk and tears of dew adorn Glen Auldyn’s track.
As the Morning Star is fading we put Milntown at our back.
Scale the flank of North Barrule to view the Northern Plain,
Morning air at Sneafell Gate transcending rare Champagne
Mullaghouyr and Block Eary witnessed laughter in the air,
As we mark the mountain lambs at play or loping upland hare.
Paths of Beinny-y- Phott and Carraghan fall subject to our tread.
Soaring larks proclaim our progress, ravens skirmish overhead.
Through Baldwin on to Crosby, each lane a whispered tale,
When the Crag and Colden beckon, we march for Druidale
Adjourning to Montpelier, there we bathe our feet and dine.
As when we first came courting there in nineteen fifty nine
Fresh bread and cheese, an apple, and boiled egg in its shell,
Upon that day no mortal Prince would surely fare so well.
Then in my third year on the farm, all quiet and shy and lean,
You so fair and calm and pleasing, just a lass not yet sixteen.
To Tholt-y-Will then Sulby Glen where the tumbling waters fall.
Shades of night enfold The Cladagh as we emerge at Ginger Hall.
Watching moon rise on Cronk Sumark concludes our day to roam,
Cherished memories all so fresh and clear, we never left our home.
Cherished memories all so fresh and dear we need never leave our home.
